SD heads to the OC: Cali Live Showcase Primer
For the first time in the history of the high school evaluation period ever, California is getting involved in the action.
The Boys California Live, hosted by the Southern California Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association, comprises 163 teams across 10 brackets at nine high school sites in Orange County, headquartered at Irvine High School.
Modeled after the wildly successful Section 7 Team Camp in Arizona, California Live gives college coaches an opportunity to evaluate prospects in the high school setting, which more closely mirrors the structure players will see at the college level.
This year's field includes a strong contingent from San Diego, as 21 teams prepare to participate in the state's first high school "live period" event.
