Aztec Team Camp Session 1 standouts

The first San Diego State University Team Camp was an excellent opportunity for many of San Diego's top programs to showcase their talent in front of the Aztec Men's Basketball staff. For many players who grew up rooting for the Aztecs program, the payoff might not be with an offer today, but potentially down the road as a grad transfer -- as has become the new normal of high major recruiting -- with their play during the weekend potentially planting a seed with the staff.

There were a number of standouts from the two-day event, including Montgomery, my way-too-early No. 1 team in San Diego entering the 2024-25 season, which went 5-0 despite being shorthanded on Day 2.
