Full-Time Hoops All-Sophomore Team + Co-SOYs Langborg, Ellis and Hilstock

One was a high-scoring guard who willed his young team to a CIF Division 1 quarterfinals appearance. The other was a seasoned shooting guard who led his team to an Open Division playoff appearance. And the final one was a lockdown defender who helped his team make a deep run in the Open Division and CIF State Playoffs.

Mission Bay G Boogie Ellis, La Jolla Country Day G Ryan Langborg and Vista G Jordan Hilstock are different players, but shared one commonality this season: All THREE were selected to the All CIF Team as sophomores.

That is why we choose to honor all three players as the Co-Sophomores of the Year.

Jordan Hilstock, 6-3 160 G, Vista - His stats won't wow you (14.1 PPG, 7 RPG) but his impact on the game on both ends will. Also developed into a quality perimeter threat (42% 3pfg), but his calling card is still his defensive prowess. Named to the All Avocado East First Team for the second straight year.

Boogie Ellis, 6-0 150 PG, Mission Bay - Ellis stepped into the role vacated by Justin Moore and posted big-time offensive numbers (22 points, 7 assists per game) for the CIF Division 1 Quarterfinalists. Faced double teams, box-and-ones and tough defenses all year, but continued to produce at a high level in one of the top leagues in San Diego. Named to the All Western League First Team.

Ryan Langborg, 6-4 180 SG, La Jolla Country Day - Langborg led the Torreys in scoring at 18 points per game and also averaged 5 rebounds and 3 assists, leading a potent Country Day offensive attack that finished second in the tough Coastal League (Coastal League South POY) en route to a Division 2 State playoff appearance.

Christian Rose, 6-6 185 PF, Bishop's, Averaged 14 ppg and 8 rpg en route to an All Coastal League South First Team.

Max Guinn, 6-5 190 W, La Jolla Country Day- One of the top shooters in the class, Guinn averaged 8 points per game for the Torreys and proved to be the team's top perimeter defender.

Jaren Nafarette, 5-8 140 PG, Foothills Christian- Playing alongside Jaylen Hands, Nafarette posted modest stats (8.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.8 apg and 2.5 spg), but provided a big spark for the team over the course of the season.
